We’re very excited to announce that “I’ve Been Fooling You” the new single from Evan Cheadle is out now on Victory Pool ⭐️

From Evan“This song explores the disconnect that can arise in relationships and the clarity that space and time can bring. It's about looking back over your past when one finds someone they're truly connected to, making them feel wholly understood. The genesis of this song dates back to 2016 when my bandmate Ryan Boldt of the Deep Dark Woods and I first demo-ed it. It resurfaced in my memory just before entering the studio with David Parry. It came together naturally this time around and I'm very pleased with the results.”

FALL RELEASES

MOONRIIVR - VOL. 1

RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 8, 2023

PRE-ORDER NOW

The songs on Vol. 1 are made by people with large, wide-ranging musical appetites, and their stew is a potent one; shades of '50s rock & roll, '60s R&B and country, and the increasingly ornate sonic palettes of the '70s come together on warm analogue tape, laced with sweetly reverberating guitars, wonky old string synths, and nimble percussive environments. And MOONRIIVR's knack for creating sonic environments that are at once lightly trippy and wholly inviting means that, as much as Vol. 1 draws on inspirations from decades past, it maintains a pleasing, distinctly out-of-time feel.

GEORDIE GORDON - TAMBOURINE

RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 2023

PRE-ORDER NOW

Musically, Tambourine is also a coming-of-age statement and his boldest project to date. His first album, in 2014, was made with his brother Evan under the name The Magic. His first solo album, The Tower, was a very solitary affair and came out during the pandemic—release shows were hampered by new lockdowns. Everything about Tambourine is a huge leap forward for Geordie. The layered vocal harmonies explore both his falsetto heights and the lower end of his register. The electronics of The Tower are still present, as are the soft pop vibes of U.S. Girls and Islands. From teenage awakenings to the wisdom of elders, Tambourine is the record Geordie Gordon was born to make. And he’s just getting started.

JOSÉ LOBO - IN ALL GOOD HOPE

RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 27, 2023

PRE-ORDER NOW

In All Good Hope, the debut album from singer, songwriter, and musician José Lobo, is a masterclass in intimacy, everything about it exuding a sense of closeness. From the highly personal lyrical themes and sparse, delicate instrumentation, to the singing, which sounds like a friend whispering a secret into your ear, the experience of listening to In All Good Hope is akin to entering an inner sanctum, or what Lobo aptly refers to as “a reverie of the quotidian.”

KELLY SLOAN - INSIDES OUT

RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 1, 2023

PRE-ORDER NOW

If what we see in another person is a picture made up of all their personal experiences, feelings, and inclinations, Kelly Sloan would be one of those collages that look like one big thing from a distance, but when you look more closely you see that it's made up of hundreds of smaller pictures. Her music is the result of heartfelt, honest attempts to make sense of a wildly varied career in music and life, somehow arriving at a coherent – and in this case, downright elegant – artistic statement. Insides Out is the latest album from Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and musician Kelly Sloan, presenting nine glistening tracks that pair classic piano-led pop songwriting with warm, enveloping atmospherics and tasteful playing from some of the city's finest musicians.
